As more and more Mellors catering teams go back to work in schools and workplaces across the north of England we want to let you know what we’ve been doing to ensure our staff are trained to handle this new environment and that they and our customers are safe at all times.
Although we’re reopening more of our kitchens every week, we’ve never really stopped during lockdown, catering for key workers and their children across a number of units.
Keeping our customers and staff safe is our top priority and we have been working with our partner schools, colleges and workplaces throughout COVID-19 to meet their needs in a safe and efficient manner. All staff are being trained on the new guidelines for making and delivering food to our customers, as well as the procedures in place when visiting one of our units or offices.
Every time we reopen a kitchen, we are performing thorough reopening checks and deep cleans. Each kitchen has also been issued with a COVID-19 Kitchen Guide explaining, in-depth, the rules, regulations and procedures and we have provided several new Health and Safety signs to aid with this. Our safety measures include safe travel to work, uniform sanitation, regular handwashing and social distancing.
We have simplified our menus to help the catering teams to follow the social distancing guidelines and stay safe, whilst still providing the tasty and nutritious meals our customers have come to know and love. We are also providing contact free food service and deliveries.
Thank you to all our clients, customers and suppliers for their patience, help and enthusiasm for finding solutions over the last few months. We are delighted to have been able to cater throughout lockdown and to see even more kitchens opening up now.
So, leave your lunch boxes at home and enjoy a nutritious hot meal in a safe environment at school or work. We can’t wait to see you.

Record breaking new site opening this September
Mellors has been awarded over 50 new sites to open this September. Thank you to all clients who have put their faith in Mellors, the first choice caterer in the North. We look forward to catering around 28,000 new customers. A big thank you to all the team at Mellors for securing this new business. Since the start of the lockdown, Mellors has issued 14 editions of our Staff Care Notes to all employees and clients.
